Donavazi Project
The Donavazi Project explores the richness of Iranian music through a unique dialogue between piano and drums — two instruments with a wide sonic range and expressive depth. With their ability to color tone and rhythm in new ways, this duo reimagines the classical elements of Persian music with a fresh, modern lens.
Created by pianist and composer Mazyar Younesi and percussionist and rhythm designer Rouzbeh Fadavi, the project traverses melodic traditions, rhythmic motifs, and structural nuances of Iranian music. Drawing from Younesi's background in classical composition and choral conducting and Fadavi’s genre-crossing rhythm work, Donavazi offers both refined artistry and raw emotional resonance.
Expect a performance that bridges tradition and innovation — intimate, bold, and rhythmically rich, where every note becomes a conversation across cultures.
Line-up:
Mazyar Younesi – Piano & Composition
Rouzbeh Fadavi – Drums & Rhythm Design
Guest Artist: Roshanak Rafani - Vibraphone

Persian Chamber Music
English:
Misagh Joolaee’s music speaks in a voice all its own — full of color, surprise, and emotional depth. Whether he's drawing you in with quiet, lyrical lines or unleashing bursts of rhythm and energy, his style blends the complexity of Persian musical traditions with the raw feeling of folk roots.
In his latest project, Joolaee brings a fresh set of original compositions shaped by his deep connection to Persian classical music, the elegance of European classical forms, and touches of contemporary sound. These new pieces come to life in conversation with a classical string quintet — featuring exceptional musicians from the Barenboim-Said Academy — and the dynamic percussionist Roshanak Rafani.
The result is a heartfelt performance that bridges cultures, eras, and emotions — a musical experience that lingers long after the final note.
Line-up:
Misagh Joolaee – Kamanche & Composition
Roshanak Rafani – Percussion
Vashka Delnavazi – Violin
Mohammadreza Bahrami – Violin
Katia Abdel Kader – Violin & Viola
Parya Moulaei – Cello
Omar F. Bishara – Double Bass
