Hybrid Concert Series
Three nights, 15 female musicians and 11 countries. A concert series reimagining string instruments through electronics, improvisation and contemporary practice.
Hybrid Practice lab
Six practical workshops for musicians and artists exploring music production, wellbeing, contemporary string techniques, microtonality, artistic practice and financial sustainability.
Hybrid Concert Series Day 2
An evening of radical string sounds with cello, electroacoustic hurdy-gurdy, double bass, violin and kamancheh moving through improvisation, extended techniques and electronics.
Hybrid Concert Series Day 3
The concert series brings together 15 female musicians from 12 countries working with string and related acoustic instruments, including violin, viola, cello, oud, harp, qanun, bandura, double bass, hurdy-gurdy, and kamancheh. Across three curated evenings, they present original solo and duo performances that explore contemporary, electroacoustic, and experimental approaches beyond conventional instrumental roles.
Through electronics, live looping, improvisation, extended techniques, and computer-based music, the artists create new sonic spaces and dialogues between instruments, cultures, and artistic perspectives.
The accompanying Practice Lab offers five artist-led workshops on microtonality, Ableton Live and electronic music production, fair pay and budgeting, artistic identity and career development, and contemporary Iranian music for string instruments.
