Hybrid Concert Series Day 1 -
1 October 2026 - Berlin
The opening night of the Hybrid Concert Series brings together four distinct approaches to acoustic and electronic string performance.
Ukrainian musician Vasylysa Furmanova brings the bandura into a contemporary setting through effects and an evolving connection to Ukrainian musical traditions. Berlin-based cellist and sound designer Golsana Shenasaei combines cello with live looping, field recordings and atmospheric sound layers.
Avin Ahmadi & Victoria Kirilova create a dialogue between oud and double bass, bringing Persian and Bulgarian influences together through original composition and improvisation. Australian violinist Xani Kolac expands the electric violin through electronics, amplified sound, live looping and spontaneous performance.
From traditional instruments transformed by technology to contemporary approaches to improvisation, Day 1 explores how strings can move between memory, cultural tradition and new sonic possibilities.
