Hybrid Concert Series - Day 2 - 15 October 2026 - Berlin

Day 2 enters the more physical and experimental edges of string performance, bringing together instruments and practices rarely heard on the same stage.

Berlin-based cellist Julia Biłat explores the cello through improvisation, voice, movement and extended techniques, treating sound and physical presence as interconnected elements of performance.

Caroline Cecilia Tallone & Isabel Rößler bring together a self-modified electroacoustic hurdy-gurdy and double bass in a duo rooted in free improvisation, acoustic experimentation and unconventional instrumental techniques.

Japanese violinist Nanaco approaches the violin through groove, jazz, funk, voice, beatboxing, electronics and live looping, while Iranian musician Dina Doosti brings the distinctive voice of the kamancheh into a contemporary performance shaped by Iranian musical traditions and looping.

Together, the four acts reveal radically different ways of rethinking bowed and string instruments through sound, body, technology and improvisation.
